Indian captain Rohit Sharma has climbed to the 3rd position in the latest ICC ODI batting rankings after an impressive performance against Sri Lanka. Across two innings, he scored a total of 122 runs with a strike rate of 134.06.
Rohit Sharma's rating points are now 763, narrowing the gap with Pakistan's Babar Azam, who leads the ODI rankings with 824 points. The difference between Rohit and Babar is now just 61 points. Shubman Gill is in the 2nd position, while Virat Kohli has dropped to 4th.
Sri Lankan batter Janith Liyanage has climbed 10 places to reach the 76th position, and another Lankan batter, Avishka Fernando, has moved up 9 places to the 88th position. Indian batter Axar Patel has jumped 35 places and is now ranked 178th.
Kuldeep Yadav has improved by 5 places, taking 5 wickets in the two ODIs, while Sri Lankan bowler Dunith Wellalage has also moved up 5 places to the 76th position. Axar Patel has made significant strides in the bowling rankings as well, moving up 37 places to 96th.
Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar and Sri Lankan spinner Jeffrey Vandersay have made substantial improvements in their rankings due to their effective performances in the India-Sri Lanka ODI series. Washington Sundar has advanced 45 places to 97th, and Vandersay has climbed 64 places.
