Under the supervision of the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) Game Development Committee, the Bangladesh U-17 team is set to tour Sri Lanka. Prime Bank will serve as the title sponsor for this tour. The team will play two three-day matches and three ODIs against the Sri Lanka U-17 team during the series.
The Bangladesh U-17 team will depart for Sri Lanka on November 21. The series will begin with the first ODI on November 24, followed by the second and third ODIs on November 26 and 28, respectively. The first three-day match is scheduled to start on December 2, and the second on December 7. All matches will take place at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.
For this tour, Abdul Karim Jewel will act as the head coach for the Bangladesh U-17 team, with Tushar Imran as the batting coach and Hasibul Hossain Shanto as the pace bowling coach.
On Wednesday, November 20, the tour jersey was unveiled at an event held at the BCB Academy. The event was attended by BCB director Nazmul Abedeen Fahim and Game Development Committee chairman Fahim Sinha.
While handing over the jerseys to the players, Nazmul Abedeen Fahim remarked, "Prime Bank has been a long-time partner of the Cricket Board. Many players who have participated in tournaments sponsored by Prime Bank have gone on to play in the national team or age-level national teams. Prime Bank has consistently contributed to the development of grassroots cricket in the country. Their initiatives, like the Prime Bank School Cricket Scholarship, are part of this contribution. Receiving this scholarship is a matter of pride, as it is awarded only to exceptionally talented players. This marks the first time Prime Bank is sponsoring the U-17 national team, and I hope their support for cricket development in Bangladesh continues in the future."
Mohammad Nazim A. Chowdhury, DMD of Prime Bank PLC, added, "I can proudly say that cricket holds a special place in Prime Bank's heart. That is why we are involved in BCB's age-level or development programs, which will help produce professional cricketers for the country in the long run. If even one skilled player from the grassroots level can make it to the national team through our efforts, it will be the greatest gift we can offer to the nation."
