PCB Issues Legal Notice to Corbin Bosch
PCB Issues Legal Notice to Corbin Bosch
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a legal notice to South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch. The notice accuses Bosch of violating professional and contractual obligations. PCB is primarily displeased with Bosch’s decision to leave the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) instead.
The 30-year-old Bosch was picked by Peshawar Zalmi in the Diamond category during the 10th PSL Player Draft, which took place in Lahore on January 13. However, PCB claims that he did not honor his contract and withdrew from PSL.
Regarding the legal notice sent to Bosch, PCB stated in a press release:
“A legal notice has been served through the player’s agent. The player has been asked to justify his breach of professional commitment and contractual terms. He has been given a deadline to respond, along with a warning about the possible consequences of this unexpected situation. PCB will not make any further comments on the matter.”
So far, Bosch has not responded, but PCB has made it clear that this is a serious issue for them.
Notably, this is the first time that IPL and PSL are being held simultaneously. Although Peshawar Zalmi initially signed Corbin Bosch through the PSL draft, on March 8, Mumbai Indians recruited him as a replacement for South African pacer Lizaad Williams. Consequently, Bosch opted to leave PSL and join the world’s top franchise league.
