Parag is flying in IPL after removing all criticism
Ryan Parag's performance stands out from others due to his unique style and approach. His recent innings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) has garnered significant attention. In his first match of the season, he scored 43 runs, and in the game played yesterday (Thursday), he played an undefeated innings of 84 runs.
Parag's performance has sparked discussions everywhere. Many are saying that his approach is a refreshing change from the norm. In yesterday's match against the Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals faced some initial difficulties. After losing the wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal for 9 runs, Josh Butler for 30 runs, and Sanju Samson for 36 runs, the team was in trouble.
However, it was Parag who turned the match around. His innings provided Rajasthan with the strength to fight back. It is said that he took on the opposition bowler Anrich Nortje. In the 20th over, Nortje faced difficulties. Parag scored 25 runs off his bowling in that over, hitting 4, 4, 6, 4, 6 in the first 5 balls. Parag remained unbeaten with 84 runs off 45 balls, helping Rajasthan Royals to a total of 185 runs.
Parag, who is among the top T20 batsmen with a strike rate of over 150 at number 4 and an average of over 40, has achieved a similar feat to another Indian batsman, Suryakumar Yadav, about four years ago.
Recently, in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023-24 season, Parag was the highest run-scorer, scoring 510 runs at an average of 85 and a strike rate of nearly 183. He has been working on his batting with former Mumbai cricketer Zubin Barucha, who is now part of the coaching staff at Rajasthan.
After yesterday's innings, Parag said, "I think there is a lot of hard work behind this."
"I think it's not so much about the bowler but which ball he's bowling that's important. I have practiced these types of deliveries extensively. Although I couldn't make much use of it tonight."
