Pakistan and Bangladesh A Teams Confirmed for 2025 Top End T20 Series
Asian cricket powerhouses Pakistan and Bangladesh will once again feature in the 2025 Top End T20 Series in Australia’s Northern Territory. The two nations’ A squads are set to face off on 14 August in Darwin—a match that will also celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day.
This marks Pakistan Shaheens’ third consecutive appearance in the tournament, while Bangladesh A return with hopes of going one better after losing last year’s final to the Adelaide Strikers Academy.
So far, three teams have been announced: Nepal’s national side, Pakistan Shaheens, and Bangladesh A. With ICC Full Members Pakistan and Bangladesh joined by ICC Associate Member Nepal, the competition promises to be even more exciting.
The tournament is seen as a valuable overseas platform for emerging players. Last year, Bangladesh’s squad included rising talents like Ripon Mondol, Rakibul Hasan, and Parvez Hossain Emon—who recently smashed a 53-ball century against the UAE.
For Pakistan, the Top End T20 has already produced international call-ups for players such as Usman Khan, Irfan Khan, Jahandad Khan, Arafat Minhas, and Rohail Nazir.
Northern Territory Cricket CEO Gavin Dovey said:
“We’re proud to work again with the Pakistan and Bangladesh Cricket Boards. With Pakistan’s 255 million and Bangladesh’s 170 million people, this tournament is not just about cricket—it’s a chance to showcase our region to the world.”
BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury added:
“This tournament is vital for preparing our emerging players. Playing in Australian conditions will help their development. Our cooperation will continue in future.”
The full tournament schedule and remaining participating teams will be announced in due course.
