Mustafizur Rahman Withdrawn from Bangladesh 'A' Squad Ahead of Pakistan Series; Khaled Ahmed Replaces Him
With the upcoming Pakistan tour on the horizon, the Bangladesh selectors have opted to keep left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman in the national team's training camp instead of fielding him in the 'A' team. As a result, he will not take part in the ongoing Bangladesh 'A' team's series against New Zealand.
Initially named in the 'A' squad for the three-match ODI series, Mustafizur did not travel with the team to Sylhet. It has now been confirmed that his exclusion was a strategic decision by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), considering his importance in the national team’s upcoming T20I series against Pakistan.
Replacing Mustafizur in the squad is right-arm fast bowler Khaled Ahmed, who has already joined the team in Sylhet.
Bangladesh will travel to Pakistan later this month to play a five-match T20I series. In the meantime, Mustafizur is on leave and will return to action once the national camp begins.
