Mustafiz Shines at IPL Auction, Joins KKR for a Record 9.20 Crore
As bids flew in the IPL auction, all eyes were on Mustafizur Rahman. The Bangladeshi left-arm pacer saw a tense bidding battle until the very end, with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) emerging victorious, securing him for ₹9.20 crore. Having entered the auction with a base price of ₹2 crore, this marks Mustafiz’s highest-ever price in his IPL career.
Delhi Capitals showed the first interest in Mustafiz as soon as his name appeared. Having played for them last season, the franchise was eager to retain the pacer. Soon, Chennai Super Kings also joined the race. Ultimately, KKR held a strong position, gradually increasing their bid to stay ahead.
The battle for Mustafizur Rahman boiled down to KKR and Chennai, with tension rising with each new bid. In the end, KKR outbid Chennai to acquire the Bangladeshi star for a record price. With this, Mustafizur set a new benchmark as the most expensive Bangladeshi player in IPL history.
