Chennai Super Kings pulled off another victory, this time against Gujarat Titans with a balanced performance in batting and bowling. Gujarat suffered a 63-run defeat as they failed to chase down the target set by Chennai. Chennai, batting first and losing six wickets in the allotted 20 overs, managed to score 206 runs. The welcome party struggled as they lost 8 wickets and managed to score only 143 runs in their 20 overs.
Gujarat, batting to achieve a big target, faced disappointment. They lost two wickets of their openers easily. Their entire 20 overs resulted in losing 8 wickets and scoring 143 runs.
As for the impact with the bat, Sai Sudarshan topped the runs chart with 37 runs off 31 balls. The rest of the batters failed to contribute significantly. David Miller scored 21 runs off 16 balls before falling victim to Tushar Deshpande.
Mustafizur conceded two boundaries in his second over but claimed a wicket in the third over. He dismissed Rashid Khan to pick his 5th IPL 2024 wicket. At that point, Gujarat had lost 7 wickets for 127 runs, with Mustafizur gave only 1 run in that over.

Shivam Dube and Daryl Mitchell formed a formidable partnership. Enjoying their time at the crease, they kept the team's hopes alive. Both faced Rashid Khan's bowling attack, with Dube returning undefeated after scoring 51 runs off 23 balls.
Next batter Samad Rezvib scored 14 runs off 2 sixes before being dismissed by Chennai. Mitchell remained unbeaten with 24 runs off 20 balls. With 6 wickets lost, the team scored 206 runs.
