Mushfiqur Rahim Injured
Mushfiqur Rahim has sustained an injury. While practicing for the first match against Pakistan Shaheens, Mashfiq injured his finger. However, there is currently no major concern regarding the injury. Mushfiqur Rahim is expected to fully recover before the first Test starting on August 21.
On Saturday, Mushfiqur Rahim spoke about various matters in a video message from the BCB. He shared his experience of playing for Bangladesh 'A' team. “So far, everything has been great, although the match did not go our way. The weather also posed some challenges. In my opinion, Pakistan Shaheens played very well. Especially Umar Bhai performed outstandingly. The bowlers, including Nasim Bhai, Mohammad Ali, and Mir Hamza, also bowled well at different stages. Our 'A' team has several young players, and I am sure they have learned a lot from this experience.”
Regarding his injury and the match, Mushfiqur Rahim said, “The match was affected by heavy rain for a few days. We couldn’t practice properly. We had only one net session in the first few days, which was not ideal. However, I tried to give my best on the field. The first innings did not go in our favor. Before the second innings, I injured my finger in the nets, so I did not bat. I hope to recover quickly and play in the first Test.”
Bangladesh will play two Test matches against Pakistan. Meanwhile, the Bangladesh 'A' team is also playing a series against Pakistan Shaheens. Some players from the 'A' team will join the Rawalpindi Test starting on August 21. Mashfiqur Rahim mentioned that the matches with the 'A' team will help the players prepare for the Test series.
Mushfiqur Rahim said, “For those who will join the Test squad from this team, it will definitely help. We wanted to come here early and have some practice sessions before the others arrive. I hope this will be beneficial for us.”
