Mehidy Hasan Miraz Nominated for ICC Player of the Month for April
Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been shortlisted for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for April, following his outstanding performances with both bat and ball.
Miraz was in scintillating form during the recently concluded two-match Test series against Zimbabwe. In the first Test, he dominated with the ball, taking 10 wickets across both innings (5/52 and 5/50). In the second Test in Chattogram, he showcased his all-round capabilities by scoring a crucial 104 runs and claiming another five-wicket haul (5/32). Across the series, Miraz accumulated 15 wickets at an impressive average of 11.86 and scored 116 runs at an average of 38.66.
His exceptional all-round performance has put him in contention for the Player of the Month award alongside Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Muzarabani and New Zealand fast bowler Ben Sears. Muzarabani took a total of 10 wickets across the two Tests against Bangladesh, averaging 20.50, and was named Player of the Match in the first Test.
Meanwhile, Ben Sears delivered back-to-back five-wicket hauls in the ODI series against Pakistan. With 10 wickets at an astonishing average of 9.30, he was named Player of the Series.
