The only Test match between Afghanistan and New Zealand will be held at the Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground in India. Bangladesh's Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid Saikat will serve as one of the umpires for this Test. He last officiated as an on-field umpire in August during the final Test of the West Indies-South Africa series in Guyana.
The only Test between Afghanistan and New Zealand will start on September 9 in Greater Noida, India. This will be the first time these two teams face each other in the most prestigious format of the game. The opportunity to officiate this historic match has been given to Bangladesh's Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid Saikat.
In a statement, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has announced the match officials for the New Zealand Test. The officials include Sri Lanka's Kumar Dharmasena, India's Nitin Menon, Ahmad Shah Pakteen, and Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid Saikat. The match referee will be elite panel member Javagal Srinath.
In March of this year, Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid Saikat became the first Bangladeshi umpire to be included in the Emirates ICC Elite Panel. He has since officiated as an on-field umpire in 12 men's Test matches, 63 ODIs, and 52 T20Is. He has also officiated in 13 women's ODIs and 28 T20Is.
The Afghanistan team has arrived in India ahead of New Zealand. The team is led by Hashmatullah Shahidi. However, star leg-spinner Rashid Khan is absent from the team due to an injury.
