Klaasen's Blistering Century Powers Sunrisers Hyderabad to Record Win Over KKR
Sunrisers Hyderabad ended their IPL 2025 campaign in stunning fashion, crushing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 110 runs in their final match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The hero of the night was South African powerhouse Heinrich Klaasen, whose sensational 105 off 39 balls* showcased sheer dominance and powered SRH to 278/3—the third-highest team total in IPL history.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Sunrisers launched an all-out assault from the start. Klaasen was the undisputed star, reaching his century in just 37 balls, making it the joint-third fastest century in IPL history. His explosive innings included 9 sixes and 7 fours, leaving the KKR bowlers in disarray.
He was ably supported by Travis Head (76) and Abhishek Sharma (32), as Hyderabad posted a mammoth total of 278 in their 20 overs.
In response, KKR never found their footing. Early wickets derailed their chase, and none of their middle-order batters could offer resistance. Sunrisers’ bowling attack, led by Jaydev Unadkat, Ishan Malinga, and Harsh Dubey, worked in unison to stifle the opposition. All three bowlers picked up key wickets, while the fielding unit backed them with sharp catches and ground work. KKR eventually folded for 168.
Despite being out of playoff contention, this resounding victory was a proud send-off for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Klaasen was rightly named Player of the Match for his explosive century that defined the game.
