IPL 2025 Start Delayed by One Day, Kolkata vs Bangalore to Open the Tournament
The start of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) has been delayed by one day. The 18th edition of the IPL will now kick off with the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Despite the delay in the opening, the final will still take place on May 25 as originally planned.
According to ESPNcricinfo, the IPL will begin on March 22 and conclude on May 23. The opening match will feature Kolkata Knight Riders facing Royal Challengers Bangalore at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the inaugural match of IPL 2025.
The 10-team league is scheduled to start just 12 days after the Champions Trophy final on March 9. The tournament will be held across 12 venues.
