Investigation into Jahanara Alams allegations concludes, report submitted to BCB
The wait over the investigation into the widely discussed allegations in Bangladesh women’s cricket has finally come to an end. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has received the report of the independent investigation committee formed to examine the allegations raised by former captain Jahanara Alam.
The committee formally submitted the investigation report to the BCB on Monday. The investigation process had been completed earlier, on 31 January. In a press release, the BCB confirmed that its president, Md. Aminul Islam, received the report.
Members of the investigation committee—Barrister Muhammad Mustafizur Rahman Khan and Barrister Sarwat Siraj Shukla—were present at the time of the handover. BCB director Rubaba Dowla was also in attendance. However, another committee member, Professor Dr. Naima Haque, could not be present as she is currently abroad.
Following nationwide discussions over the allegations raised by Jahanara Alam, the BCB took the matter seriously and initiated the investigation process. An independent committee was formed to ensure a transparent and impartial inquiry, the findings of which have now been submitted to the board.
