India will Propose Alternative solution to ICC for Champions Trophy in Pakistan

The ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to be held in Pakistan next year, with the draft schedule already revealed. However, India has refused to play the tournament in Pakistan. Instead, the BCCI plans to propose an alternative solution to the ICC.

The political rivalry between India and Pakistan extends beyond cricket, making India's participation in Pakistan uncertain from the beginning. The ICC's next meeting is set to take place in Colombo from July 19 to 22, where the Champions Trophy will be a major discussion point.

At the ICC meeting, the BCCI will request an alternative venue for India's matches. The United Arab Emirates or Sri Lanka could be the best options. A BCCI source stated, "India will not go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. We will ask the ICC to hold India's matches in Dubai or Sri Lanka."

This hybrid model is not new. Last year, during the Asia Cup, matches were held in a similar manner. India played their matches in Sri Lanka, while the rest of the teams, including Pakistan, played in Pakistan. The final was held in Sri Lanka.

Despite this, the PCB has prepared a draft schedule assuming that the Indian team will play in Pakistan. Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium was designated to host all of India's matches. However, India remains unwilling to travel to Pakistan.

India has not toured Pakistan since the 2008 Mumbai attacks, and bilateral series between the two rivals have been suspended. They only face each other in ICC tournaments.
