India Storms into Final with Dominant Batting and Bowling Against Bangladesh

The Indian women's cricket team secured their place in the Asia Cup final by thrashing Bangladesh in the semi-final. On Friday, India showcased their dominance in both batting and bowling, defeating Bangladesh by 10 wickets with 9 overs to spare.

In the semi-final held at the Dambulla International Stadium in Sri Lanka, Nigar Sultana Jyoti's team won the toss and elected to bat first. However, Bangladesh's batting lineup struggled against the exceptional Indian bowling attack, managing only 80 runs for 8 wickets in their 20 overs.

Chasing a modest target of 81 runs, India comfortably secured the win. Openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma started aggressively and took control of the match, with India's innings progressing smoothly without giving the Bangladeshi bowlers any chance.

Smriti Mandhana remained unbeaten, scoring 55 runs off 39 balls, including 9 fours and 1 six. Shafali Verma scored 26* runs off 28 balls. The winning run came from Smriti Mandhana's bat, as she hit a boundary through extra cover off Nahida Akter.

For Bangladesh, captain Nigar Sultana top-scored with 32 runs off 51 balls, including 2 fours. Swarna Akter contributed 19 runs off 18 balls. The partnership between Nigar and Swarna, which added 36 runs, was the highlight of Bangladesh's innings.

Apart from these two, no other Bangladeshi batters reached double figures. Nahida Akter and Marufa Akter were dismissed for ducks. Rumana Ahmed and Rabea Khan scored 1 run each, while Dilara Akter, Murshida Khatun, Ishma Tanzim, and Ritu Moni scored 6, 4, 8, and 5 runs, respectively.

For India, Renuka Thakur Singh and Radha Yadav each took 3 wickets, while Pooja Vastrakar and Deepti Sharma picked up one wicket each.
