Mahesh Theekshana has made a remarkable impact in the latest ICC rankings, following his hat-trick performance. The 24-year-old bowler has risen to the top three for the first time. This right-arm off-spinner claimed 7 wickets in back-to-back ODIs against New Zealand.
In the latest ICC rankings, Theekshana has earned 663 points. Afghanistan's Rashid Khan remains at the top with 669 points, while India's Kuldeep Yadav occupies the second spot with 665 points.
Meanwhile, New Zealand's Matt Henry has moved up three spots in the rankings. Mitchell Santner, with 599 points, has climbed two places to 15th. Asitha Fernando, who took 3 wickets for 26 runs in 7 overs, has surged 34 spots to 97th.
In the ICC batter rankings, there have been minimal changes, with the top 10 remaining unchanged. Pakistan's Babar Azam continues to lead with 795 points. India's trio—Rohit Sharma (765), Shubman Gill (763), and Virat Kohli (746)—follow in the rankings. Sri Lanka's Charith Asalanka, who scored just four runs (including two ducks) in the New Zealand series, has dropped 18 places in the rankings.
Additionally, in the ICC All-rounder rankings, Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi, with 300 points, remains at the top, surpassing Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza, who has 290 points.
