Hardik Pandya continues to display superb form in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) while playing for Baroda. Showing consistent aggressive batting, he smashed an unbeaten 77 runs in the Elite Group C match against Punjab. His 42-ball knock, which included four sixes, powered Baroda to a thrilling seven-wicket victory.
His very first six of the innings took him to a special milestone. Hardik became only the second Indian cricketer to hit 300 or more sixes in T20 cricket without scoring a century. Before him, the record belonged solely to former India captain MS Dhoni. Hardik’s highest score in T20s remains 91, and across 309 matches and 268 innings, he has now accumulated 303 sixes.
Dhoni, on the other hand, has hit 350 sixes in 355 innings without a single T20 century. He will have the chance to extend that tally when he returns for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2026.
After overcoming a long injury phase, Hardik is now close to full fitness. He is also expected to return to the India squad for the upcoming T20 series against South Africa.
