Sylhet's Green gallery turning Grey

The Sylhet International Cricket Stadium stands proudly amidst the tea gardens, a testament to tradition. Surrounded by tea gardens and hillocks, this cricket stadium stands as a symbol of Sylhet's natural beauty. Not only a pride of the nation, but it unquestionably earns its place among the world's finest stadiums. The most captivating feature of this remarkable stadium is the Green Gallery, which is now sadly neglected. Consequently, the allure of this gallery has diminished, disappointing the spectators.

The most beautiful sight at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium is the 'Green Gallery.' Once covered entirely with lush green grass, now it's a relic of the past. There's hardly any green left in front of the gallery.

The name that once proudly adorned the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium is now fading, like the dull, grassless pitch. Even the spectators seem disinterested in sitting there. Looking at the desolate picture of the Green Gallery on the western side of the stadium, one might have to wait a little longer, possibly for the rain. Thousands of cricket enthusiasts in Sylhet are eagerly awaiting that day.

Farhad Koreshi, the media manager of the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, assured Cricket97 in a conversation,

"In this winter season, the grass on these pitches usually dies after six months. Moreover, before the start of the BPL, the gallery was all green. When spectators enter the gallery, their footsteps kill the grass. Since back-to-back matches are being held, it's not possible to take care of new grass. When the rainy season comes, the grass will grow again. At that time, it won't be suitable to sit on the grass. We are considering how to further improve this gallery."

Many of the spectators who came to watch the BPL matches expressed their dissatisfaction with the current state of the Green Gallery due to the management's indifference. The main attraction of the stadium was the Green Gallery. To enhance its beauty, stakeholders need to be more proactive.

The future of the gallery, which once served as the main attraction of the stadium, hangs in the balance due to the lack of attention from the authorities.
