After two consecutive losses, Shakib Al Hasan's Bangla Tigers have finally won in the Abu Dhabi T10 League. They defeated Delhi Bulls by 7 wickets. Bangla Tigers chased down Delhi’s total of 124 runs with 2 balls to spare, thanks to a storming half-century by Livingstone.
At the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, after losing the toss, Delhi Bulls opted to bat first. Their two openers were dismissed early, but James Vince and Rovman Powell quickly started to accumulate runs.
Bangla Tigers’ captain, Shakib Al Hasan, came on to bowl in the fourth over. On his very first ball, Powell hit a six, followed by another six on the next delivery. On the third ball, Powell took a single to give the strike to James Vince, who also hit a boundary. The two batsmen then hit two more fours off the next two balls. A total of 25 runs came off Shakib's single over.
Towards the end, Dasun Shanaka's over yielded 33 runs, and Delhi Bulls managed to set a massive target of 124 runs for Bengal Tigers, losing 6 wickets in the process. Nikhil Chaudhuri remained unbeaten on 47 runs off 16 balls.
Although Shakib went wicketless, David Payne and Joshua Little each took two wickets for Bangla Tigers.
Chasing 124 runs, Hazratullah Zazai played a 24-run knock. Shanaka made a quick-fire 33 off 14 balls before being dismissed. The rest of the work was done single-handedly by Liam Livingstone. He brought up his half-century in just 15 balls and guided the team to victory. His innings included 3 fours and 5 sixes. Bengal Tigers won the match with 2 balls to spare and 7 wickets in hand. On this day, Shakib Al Hasan did not need to bat.
