Despite venue uncertainty, Tigers remain ready for the World Cup: Habibul Bashar optimistic

Former Bangladesh captain Habibul Bashar Suman believes that the discussion and concern surrounding venue uncertainty ahead of the World Cup will not cast a shadow over on-field performances. Despite administrative complications at a crucial phase of preparation, he feels the Tigers will be able to focus on their responsibilities with professionalism.

Explaining his stance, former Bangladesh captain Habibul Bashar Suman said,“As professional cricketers, our job is to play cricket. Whatever happens is not in the hands of the players. Their only focus should be that when we play, we think only about cricket and try to perform well.”

Highlighting the team’s preparation and recent performances, Habibul Bashar Suman said,“We have been playing as a team for six months. This is not a newly formed side. We understand our cricket much better now. What it takes to be successful in which format, and what our brand of cricket will look like in T20s—I think the team has figured that out. This is definitely not something we expect. When we go to the World Cup, these issues should not be on our minds.”

He added,“These things are not in the players’ hands. If I were a player, I would focus on the BPL that lies ahead. It’s natural for players to discuss these matters among themselves, but they are professionals. At this moment, their focus should be entirely on the BPL. Since we are at the business end of the tournament, the results will be important.”
