Cricket South Africa Delegation Satisfied with Security Arrangements for Upcoming Test Series in Bangladesh
A delegation from Cricket South Africa (CSA) has expressed satisfaction with the security measures in place for the upcoming Test series in Bangladesh. The team included former all-rounder Farhan Behardien, who serves as the Cricket Operations and Player Engagement Manager for the South African Cricketers' Association. If all goes as planned, the South African Test team is expected to arrive in Bangladesh on October 16.
The four-member delegation arrived in Dhaka on September 21 and visited the Chittagong venue the following day, where one of the Test matches is scheduled to take place. On Monday, they inspected the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, evaluating the facilities and observing a security drill conducted by the authorities.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is confident about hosting the upcoming home series against South Africa. They have received positive feedback from the visiting CSA delegation regarding the arrangements for the series.
Despite the political instability that led to the ICC Women's T20 World Cup being moved from Bangladesh to the UAE, the BCB is determined to organize this national team series. BCB officials have held meetings with the Bangladesh Army and have also discussed security measures with members of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP).
The South African Test team is scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on October 16, with the first Test set to begin in Dhaka on October 21. The second Test will take place in Chittagong starting from October 29.
