Charl Langeveldt takes charge as Zimbabwe bowling coach
Former Protea pacer Charl Langeveldt is taking on the role of Zimbabwe's bowling coach. Stuart Matsikenyeri has been appointed as the fielding coach, having recently served as the interim head coach. Until recently, Langeveldt was the bowling coach for Afghanistan. The South African fast bowling specialist also has experience working as a pace bowling coach in Bangladesh.
Charl Langeveldt, the former fast bowler from South Africa, has been appointed as the bowling coach for the Zimbabwe national team. Additionally, former Zimbabwe batter Stuart Matsikenyeri, who was the interim head coach before the full-time appointment of Justin Sammons, remains in the coaching staff as the fielding coach.
Before the five-match T20 series against India starting on July 6 in Harare, Langeveldt and Matsikenyeri will join Sammons and newly appointed assistant coach Dion Ebrahim. South Africans Ravish Govind and Kurtley Diesel will join the backroom staff as strategic performance coach and conditioning coach, respectively.
Langeveldt worked with Afghanistan until the ODI World Cup held in India last year. He has also been part of the coaching setups for Bangladesh and South Africa. The former South African fast bowler played 87 international matches over nine years from 2001 to 2010.
