After the ongoing 2025 BPL, the Women's Bangladesh Premier League (WBPL) will take place. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will organize the tournament with three teams, and it will be held at Mirpur's Home of Cricket in February.
BCB director Nazmul Abedin Fahim announced yesterday at Chittagong’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium that the board has decided to host the Women’s BPL. The aim of the tournament is to see how it impacts women’s T20 cricket. The BCB is optimistic that the Women’s BPL will play a significant role in advancing women’s cricket.
Following the conclusion of the men’s BPL on February 7, the Women’s BPL will start shortly after. This tournament will feature three teams for the first time. It will be played in a double league format, with seven matches including the final. Each team will play twice against each other in the first phase, and then the top two teams from the points table will compete in the final.
The Women’s BPL will begin after an 8-9 day break following the men’s BPL. However, the tournament will feature only a limited number of foreign players. Each team will be allowed to have 15 local players and one foreign player.
