BCB Dedicates Bangladesh-Pakistan T20 Match to Victims of Milestone School Jet Crash
On Monday afternoon, a Bangladesh Air Force training fighter jet crashed into the campus of Milestone School and College in the Diabari area of Dhaka’s Uttara. The tragic incident has claimed 27 lives, while 78 others remain hospitalized. In light of the tragedy, Tuesday has been declared a day of national mourning in Bangladesh.
Expressing deep sorrow and solidarity, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has extended heartfelt condolences to the victims of the devastating plane crash. In honor of the deceased and injured, BCB has confirmed that Tuesday’s second T20 match between Bangladesh and Pakistan will be dedicated as a tribute.
“This match is being dedicated to those who lost their lives or were injured in the Milestone School plane crash. In this time of mourning, the Tigers stand beside the nation,” said a BCB statement.
BCB's Special Initiatives Surrounding Today’s Tribute Match:
Flags at Half-Mast at the stadium and all BCB venues nationwide
Special Prayer Session for the departed souls and the injured
No Music will be played in the stadium during the entire match
One Minute’s Silence before kickoff with participation from both teams and all present
Players from Both Teams will wear black armbands as a mark of respect
The second T20 of the three-match series will be played today (Tuesday) at 6:00 PM at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. Having won the first match, Bangladesh will look to secure the series with a win today.
