Bangladesh’s Pakistan Tour in May to Feature Only T20 Series, No ODI Matches
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to cancel the planned One-Day International (ODI) matches during Bangladesh’s upcoming tour of Pakistan in May. Instead, the Tigers will play a five-match T20 series against the hosts. Following this, three T20 matches will be held in Mirpur in July.
The decision to cancel the ODI series was made by the BCB, as both teams are focusing on preparations for the upcoming Asia Cup and the ICC T20 World Cup. The Asia Cup, which will be held in September in India, will also be played in the T20 format, with both the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup being key tournaments for the teams' preparations.
In light of the upcoming 20-over Asia Cup and T20 World Cup, both the Bangladesh and Pakistan Cricket Boards have agreed to make this tour exclusively for five T20 matches. All the matches in both the May tour to Pakistan and the July series in Bangladesh will now be played in the T20 format.
Additionally, before their West Indies tour, Pakistan will play a three-match T20 series against Bangladesh in July, which is not part of the Future Tours Programme (FTP). These matches will be held on July 20, 22, and 24 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
