Bangladesh’s Dominant Morning Session in Rawalpindi Test
In the ongoing Test match at Rawalpindi, Bangladesh has seized control with a dominant performance on the morning of the final day. Pakistan's top order crumbled under pressure, losing three crucial batsmen early in the day.
Captain Shan Masood was the first to depart, dismissed by Hasan Mahmud for 14 runs off 37 balls. Despite an initial decision of not out by the umpire, Bangladesh's review led to Masood’s dismissal, caught by Litton Das.
In the very next over, Shariful Islam had an opportunity to dismiss Babar Azam twice. However, Litton Das failed to hold onto the catches, allowing Babar to avoid the shame of a golden duck and a pair. Babar, eventually dismissed by Nahiid Rana's delivery at 146.4 km/h, inside-edged the ball onto his stumps, scoring 22 runs from 50 balls.
Saooud Shakeel, who scored a century in the first innings, was out for a duck, bowled by Shakib Al Hasan. Shakeel, trying to play a delivery from Shakib that came in sharply, was caught out for his first-ever duck in Test cricket. With the loss of Shakeel, Pakistan was in deep trouble, losing their fourth wicket at a team total of 67 runs.
The day’s play so far has seen Bangladesh firmly in control, with Pakistan struggling to stay in the game.
