Bangladesh Women Rise to 7th in ICC ODI Rankings
Bangladesh Women’s Cricket Team has climbed one spot to 7th place in the latest ICC Women’s ODI Team Rankings, moving up from 8th. The Tigresses continue to make strides on the global stage.
Australia remains at the top with 167 points, despite their lead over second-placed England shrinking by four points. However, the Aussies still hold a commanding 40-point advantage.
Australia’s ranking is bolstered by a string of series wins:
3–0 vs India (home and away)
3–0 vs England and Bangladesh
2–0 vs New Zealand and West Indies
2–1 vs South Africa
England sits in second with 127 points, with series wins over New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Ireland, and South Africa (2–1).
India, in third place, has closed the gap with England from 11 to 6 points, helped by 3–0 wins over Ireland, West Indies, and South Africa, and a 2–1 win over New Zealand. India also won the tri-series held in Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, South Africa and West Indies have seen a dip in their ratings, partly due to the exclusion of 2022 World Cup results from the current cycle. South Africa dropped 9 points to stay 5th, while West Indies lost 10 points, falling below both Bangladesh and Pakistan to settle at 9th.
There are currently 15 teams ranked in women’s ODIs. The USA has been removed from the rankings after losing their ODI status.
