Bangladesh has advanced to the semifinals of the Hong Kong Sixes Tournament after defeating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 18 runs via the DLS method in the quarterfinals. Mohammad Saifuddin was instrumental in the victory, scoring 36 runs at a stunning strike rate of 400 and taking two crucial wickets in his first over.
Chasing Bangladesh's target of 112, UAE reached 43/3 in 3.2 overs before play was halted due to poor lighting. At that point, Bangladesh was ahead on the DLS calculation and declared the winner by an 18-run margin. For his all-round performance, Saifuddin was awarded Player of the Match.
In the fourth quarterfinal, Bangladesh batted first and scored 111 runs for the loss of one wicket in the allotted 6 overs. The opening pair of Zishan Alam and Abdullah Al Mamun added a strong 59 runs to the scoreboard. Mamun scored 31 off 11 balls, hitting 3 sixes and 2 fours.
Mohammad Saifuddin came in at number three and smashed 36 runs off just 9 balls, maintaining a strike rate of 400. His explosive innings included 5 sixes and 1 four. Zishan Alam remained unbeaten on 34 off 17 balls, hitting 3 fours and 3 sixes, helping Bangladesh reach a formidable total of 111.
In UAE's innings, Mohammad Saifuddin struck early, dismissing UAE captain Asif Khan with his second ball. He then trapped Mohammad Zohaib LBW shortly after, further denting UAE's chase. Abdullah Al Mamun took the third wicket, and with UAE at 43/3, Bangladesh secured the win through the DLS method due to insufficient light.
