Bangladesh stormed to an 8-wicket win over Ireland in the series-deciding match, cruising to the target in just 13.4 overs thanks to a blistering knock from Tanzid Tamim.

Chasing a modest target of 118, Bangladesh scored only 3 runs in the opening over. But from the next over onward, the batters went on the attack against the Irish bowlers. This time, Saif Hassan opened the innings alongside Tanzid Tamim.

Saif departed for 19, caught by Mark Adair. Captain Liton Das fell soon after, giving a catch to Curtis Campher off Harry Tector for just 7. Bangladesh were reduced to 46/2.

However, the Tigers never looked back from there. Parvez Hossain Emon came in at number four, took a bit of time to settle, and then built a strong partnership with Tanzid Tamim.

The Tamim-Emon duo kept pushing Bangladesh forward with attacking cricket. In the 13.4th over, Emon sealed the victory with a boundary. Emon remained unbeaten on 33 off 26 balls, while Tanzid Tamim produced a match-winning knock of 55 off 36 deliveries, hitting 6 sixes and 4 fours.

Earlier, Irish captain Paul Stirling opted to bat first after winning the toss in Chattogram. Openers Paul Stirling and Tim Tector gave Ireland a bright start, taking on Mehidy Hasan and Shoriful Islam in the first two overs. Stirling got a reprieve when Saifuddin dropped a catch in the third over.

On 38 runs, Tim Tector was bowled by Shoriful for 17 after hitting a six. Mustafizur then removed Harry Tector. Mehidy and Rishad struck in quick succession, leaving Ireland reeling at 73/5.

Despite their positive start, Ireland crumbled under the pressure of Bangladesh’s aggressive bowling. Stirling top-scored with 38 off 27 before getting out. The rest of the batting lineup collapsed, and Ireland were bowled out for 117 with one ball to spare.

For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman and Rishad Hossain took 3 wickets each, while Shoriful Islam claimed 2 wickets.
