Assurances from Cricket Australia Regarding Bangladesh's Series in Australia
Opportunities for the Bangladesh cricket team to play bilateral series in Australia are rare. However, this situation might change soon. Nick Hockley, the Chief Executive Officer of Cricket Australia (CA), has expressed hope that they will host Bangladesh in the next Future Tours Program (FTP).
The last time Bangladesh played a Test match in Australia was in July 2003. The most recent bilateral ODI series took place in August-September 2008.
Indicating a change in this scenario, Nick Hockley said, “Bangladesh will definitely be part of our next FTP cycle. We are keen to host them.”
“Before the Women’s T20 World Cup, our women's team completed a fantastic tour there. The hospitality and love they received was commendable.”
“We will work with all teams and specifically with the Bangladesh Cricket Board to explore opportunities in the next FTP.”
