Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan Takes Charge of the Ministry of Youth and Sports: Departmental Allocations Announced

The interim government's advisory council of Bangladesh has allocated departments among its members. Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan has been assigned the responsibility of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, a key coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, along with Nahid Islam, became part of the 17-member advisory council. Nahid Islam has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and Information Technology.

The department allocation process began on Friday (August 9) in the afternoon. The Chief Adviser, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, along with the other advisers, began their journey last night. However, Faruk-e-Azam, Bidhan Ranjan Roy, and Supradip Chakma could not take their oath due to being outside Dhaka.

It is noteworthy that the Chief Adviser has taken charge of 27 ministries/divisions, including the Cabinet Division, Defense, Armed Forces Division, and Education. Mr. Salehuddin Ahmed has been entrusted with the Ministry of Finance and Planning. Dr. Asif Nazrul has been assigned the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs. Mr. Adilur Rahman Khan will oversee the Ministry of Industries. The Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives will be under Mr. Hasan Arif's purview. Tauhid Hossain has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Syeda Rizwana Hasan will manage the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change. Sharmin S. Murshid has taken charge of the Ministry of Social Welfare.

Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. M. Sakhawat Hossain has been given the crucial responsibility of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain will manage the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Farida Akhtar has been entrusted with the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, and Nurjahan Begum will oversee the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
