Anamul's 10-Run Disappointment, Fifty for Rabbi and Mushfiq
On Monday (July 29), a match took place in Chattogram between BCB Red and BCB Green. BCB Green, led by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, faced BCB Red, captained by Taijul Islam. On the first day, BCB Green, batting first, scored 220 runs for 5 wickets. Anamul Haque Bijoy narrowly missed a century, falling just 10 runs short.
After losing the toss, BCB Green batted first. Opener Naim Sheikh was out for a duck, caught by Soumya Sarkar off the bowling of Tanzim Hasan Sakib. Coming in at number three, Khalid Hasan was also dismissed quickly, caught by Sakib after scoring only 5 runs.
Anamul Haque Bijoy and Yasir Ali Chowdhury Rabbi then put together a 95-run partnership. Rabbi scored 58 runs, including three fours and three sixes, before being dismissed by Nayeem Hasan.
Anamul Haque Bijoy and Mushfiqur Rahim then added another 90 runs together. Mushfiqur Rahim was caught by Liton Das off the bowling of Khaled Ahmed after scoring 51 runs. Anamul Haque Bijoy was the third victim of Tanzim Sakib, getting out for 90 runs off 186 balls.
Due to rain and poor light, only 63 overs were possible on the first day. BCB Green ended the day at 220 for 5. For BCB Red, Tanzim Hasan Sakib took 3 wickets, while Khaled Ahmed and Nayeem Hasan took 1 wicket each.
