Amir Returns with the Desire to Play in the T20 World Cup
Mohammad Amir, the Pakistani cricketer, expresses his desire to don the Pakistani jersey once again. Today, through a post on the social media platform 'X', he has conveyed his sentiments. Last year in December, Amir retired from international cricket citing mental stress. However, he is keen on returning to the Pakistan team for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
The T20 World Cup is scheduled to commence from June 1. The United States and the West Indies are the hosts for this edition. All teams are now in preparations for the World Cup. The frequency of T20 matches has increased significantly, with the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) adding to the excitement.
There's a growing anticipation for Amir's comeback in Pakistani cricket. Despite being in retirement, he has reconsidered his decision. He wrote on social media:
"I still dream of playing for Pakistan."
"Life sometimes brings us to a point where we need to reconsider our decisions. I have had discussions with the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board), which have been fruitful. They have assured me of their support, acknowledging my needs, and now I can still play for Pakistan. After discussing with my family and well-wishers, I announce that I am available for the upcoming T20 World Cup. I want to do something for my country, as much as it's my personal decision. Wearing the green jersey, doing something for my country, was my biggest desire."

life brings us to the points where at times we have to reconsider our decisions, There has been few positive discussions between myself and the PCB where they respectfully made me feel that I was needed and can still play for Pakistan after…
Amir recently played in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he took 10 wickets for Quetta Gladiators with an economy rate of 8.41.
Yesterday, Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim returned from retirement. Like Amir, he has left himself available for the upcoming T20 World Cup and expressed his desire to continue playing.
