West Indies cricketer Alzarri Joseph is set to return to action after serving a 2-match suspension. He will be included in the squad for the third T20I against England, replacing Shamarh Brooks, who had been filling in for him.
Meanwhile, Andre Russell, who injured his left ankle, will miss the remainder of the T20I series against England. Shamarh Springer has been named as Russell’s replacement for the remaining matches of the series.
Alzarri Joseph had been handed a 2-match suspension by the ICC for unprofessional behavior. During the third ODI between West Indies and England, Joseph had an altercation with the captain and left the field in protest. As a result of this incident, the ICC imposed the suspension on him. However, Joseph later apologized for his actions and issued a public statement acknowledging his mistake.
England has already won the first two matches of the 5-match T20I series in Barbados. For West Indies to win the series, they must win all three of the remaining matches. The remaining three T20I matches will be played on November 14, 16, and 17.
West Indies T20I Squad: Rovman Powell (captain), Roston Chase, Matthew Ford, Shimron Hetmyer, Terrance Hinds, Shai Hope, Akeil Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Brandon King, Evin Lewis, Gudakesh Moti, Nicholas Pooran, Sherfane Rutherford, Romario Shepherd, Shamarh Springer.
