Al Amin Hossain’s Five-Wicket Haul Powers Brothers Union to Easy Win Over Shinepukur Cricket Club
Pacer Al Amin Hossain delivered a brilliant bowling performance against Shinepukur Cricket Club at BKSP's second ground, claiming five wickets for the seventh time in his List A career. His superb spell helped restrict Shinepukur to just 288 runs. In response, Brothers Union comfortably chased down the target with a stellar performance from openers Mahfijul Islam Robin and Mizanur Rahman, both of whom scored centuries, leading the team to a 7-wicket win.
Shinepukur Cricket Club, batting first after losing the toss, managed to score 288/9 in their allotted 50 overs. Rahim Ahmed was the top scorer for Shinepukur, playing an excellent knock of 85 runs off 96 balls. Captain Ryan Rafsan contributed 47 runs, while Anik Sarkar added 40. However, Shinepukur’s total fell short due to the outstanding bowling by Al Amin Hossein.
Al Amin bowled a fantastic spell, taking 5 wickets for just 50 runs in his 10 overs. Fellow experienced bowler Alok Kapali supported well, claiming 2 wickets.
Chasing a target of 289 runs, Brothers Union faced an early setback when opener Imtiaz Hossain was dismissed for a duck after facing just 3 balls. However, Mizanur Rahman, coming in at number 3, partnered with Mahfijul Islam Robin to steer the chase forward.
The pair built a huge partnership of 250 runs. After losing their first wicket at just 2 runs, Brothers Union lost their second wicket at 252, putting them on the path to a comfortable victory. Both Mizanur and Mahfijul reached centuries, guiding their team closer to the target. The match ended with 7 balls to spare as Brothers Union secured a 7-wicket win.
Neither Mizanur nor Mahfijul could finish the game on the field, though. Mizanur retired after scoring a brilliant 136 runs, while Mahfijul was dismissed for 114 runs, ensuring Brothers Union’s commanding victory.
