Afridi, Amir set up convincing win for Pakistan

New Zealand All Out for 90 Under the Assault of Amir and Afridi, Pakistan Wins by 7 Wickets with 47 Balls Remaining. In a dramatic cricket match, Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 7 wickets with 47 balls to spare in the second T20I held last night in Rawalpindi. Having returned to international cricket after a break of over four and a half years, Mohammad Amir immediately made a significant impact, taking 2 wickets for just 13 runs in 3 overs.

Choosing to bat first after losing the toss, New Zealand struggled throughout their innings, eventually folding for a mere 90 runs in 18.1 overs under the fierce bowling attack of Pakistan. The Kiwi batsmen found it challenging to handle the pace of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Amir, and Naseem Shah, and were equally puzzled by the leg-spin from Abrar Ahmed and Shadab Khan. Mark Chapman was the top scorer for New Zealand with 19 runs.

For Pakistan, Afridi claimed 3 wickets giving away just 13 runs in 3.1 overs. Naseem Shah and the leg-spinners Shadab Khan and Abrar Ahmed also contributed significantly to the bowling attack, with Khan and Ahmed each taking 2 wickets.

The chase did not start well for Pakistan, losing opener Saim Ayub for just 4 runs on the second ball. Usman Khan and Babar Azam also got out cheaply. However, Mohammad Rizwan's unbeaten 45 off 34 balls and Irfan Khan Niazi's 18* off 18 balls comfortably guided Pakistan to victory, giving them a 1-0 lead in the series.
