Batting first after losing the toss at BKSP, Abahani posted a massive total of 310 for 8. Mominul Haque led the charge, scoring 92 runs off 74 balls, while Mohammad Mithun contributed 71 runs. Al-Amin Hossain was the pick of the bowlers for Brothers Union, claiming 2 wickets.
Chasing the daunting target, Brothers Union lost 3 wickets for just 88 runs. Captain Myshukur Rahman’s fighting knock of 84 runs helped reduce the margin of defeat, while Mizanur Rahman added 45 runs. However, they could only manage 230 for 7 in the allotted overs. For Abahani, Mosaddek Hossain and Meherob Hasan took 2 wickets each.
Meanwhile, at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mohammedan, led by Tamim Iqbal, put up a total of 253 for 9. Despite scoring back-to-back centuries in the last two matches, Tamim fell early for 28 off the bowling of Shoriful Islam.
Rony Talukdar (36), Mahidul Islam Ankon (42), and Towhid Hridoy (66) were the key contributors with the bat. Shoriful Islam was the standout bowler for Rupganj, taking 4 wickets for 54 runs, while Tanzim Hasan Sakib claimed 2 wickets.
Rupganj struggled from the start while chasing, losing their top six batters for just 57 runs, thanks to the fiery bowling of Taskin Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Despite a late effort from Sheikh Mahadi Hasan (43 runs), they were bundled out for 159 in 37.2 overs, suffering a heavy defeat. Taskin took 3 wickets, while Miraz bagged 4 for Mohammedan.
