Bangladesh's batting collapsed disastrously at the start of Day 2 in Jamaica, with one wicket falling after another in the opening hour of play. The team was in a precarious position, with 6 wickets down for just 98 runs, unable to reach the 100-run mark. However, captain Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam steadied the ship before lunch, ensuring no further mishaps occurred.
Bangladesh started Day 2 with 69 runs off 30 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. Shahadat Hossain Dipu, who was unbeaten the previous day, was dismissed for 22 runs, breaking the 73-run partnership with Sadman Islam. He was stumped off Shamarh Joseph's delivery. In the next over, Jaden Seales dismissed Liton Das, who was caught at first slip for just 1 run. Zakir Ali Anik also failed, scoring just 1 run before being caught by the wicketkeeper off Shamarh Joseph's bowling.
Sadman Islam, who had scored a crucial half-century the previous day, was the next to fall. He was dismissed for 64 runs off 137 balls, also caught off Shamarh Joseph’s delivery, leaving Bangladesh at 98/6. Among the five batsmen dismissed before him, only Shahadat Hossain Dipu had reached double digits.
