এর আগে সর্বোচ্চ ৪ বার শিরোপা জয়ের রেকর্ড নিয়ে এবারের বিশ্বকাপ খেলতে ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজ গিয়েছিল ভারতীয় অনূর্ধ্ব-১৯ দল। ওয়েস্ট ইন্ডিজে সেই রেকর্ড আরও বাড়িয়ে নিয়েছে ইয়াশ ধুলের দল। ফাইনালে ইংল্যান্ড অনূর্ধ্ব-১৯ দলকে ৪ উইকেটে হারিয়ে ৫ম বারের মত শিরোপা জিতেছে ভারত।

শিরোপা জিতে শুধু অভিনন্দন বার্তা নিয়েই সন্তুষ্ঠ থাকতে হচ্ছে না ভারতীয় যুবাদের। বিসিসিআই (দ্য বোর্ড অব কন্ট্রোল ফর ক্রিকেট ইন ইন্ডিয়া) জানিয়েছে আর্থিক পুরষ্কারও পাচ্ছেন ক্রিকেটার ও সাপোর্ট স্টাফরা।
প্রতিটি ক্রিকেটার ৪০ লাখ ভারতীয় রুপি ও সাপোর্ট স্টাফের সদস্যরা ২৫ লাখ ভারতীয় রুপি করে পাবে।
