এসএলসি (শ্রীলঙ্কা ক্রিকেট) এক বিবৃতি দিয়ে জানিয়েছে, ‘লাসিথ মালিঙ্গা শ্রীলঙ্কার বিশ্বকাপে বাংলাদেশের বিপক্ষে আজকের ম্যাচ খেলেই লঙ্কান শিবির ছাড়বেন। মালিঙ্গার শাশুড়ি মারা গিয়েছেন। সে লঙ্কান শিবিরে আবার যোগ দিবেন শ্রীলঙ্কার পরবর্তী ম্যাচের আগে। ১৫ তারিখে অস্ট্রেলিয়ার মুখোমুখি হবে শ্রীলঙ্কা।’
