Opener Liton Das continues to struggle with his form. Even facing Zimbabwe, Liton's bat did not shine. He has given up wicketkeeping to ease his burden, yet it seems he cannot relieve his stress. Liton has been off his best form for a long time and appears unable to escape his poor performance streak. What exactly is the problem with this star batter? National team batting coach David Hemp has spoken out.

Last night, in the first T20, chasing a target of 125 runs, Liton Das lost his wicket again to the new ball. Blessed Muzarabani's pace and swing led to Liton losing his middle stump and returning to the pavilion with just one run. Muzarabani took advantage of the gap between bat and pad to knock over Liton’s stumps.

After the five T20 home series against Zimbabwe, there is an away series against the USA, followed by the T20 World Cup. When will Liton smile again in this white-ball format and bring joy to the spectators? Batting coach David Hemp today spoke about Liton's form and praised his dedication.

He is working hard to get back on track, which the batting coach sees as the most important aspect. "He may not be scoring runs, but he's working hard on his game. That's important for us. He's continually trying to improve. Players go through such phases where sometimes they score and sometimes they don't. Right now, he may not be consistent, but he is working on it and putting in a lot of effort. That’s what matters most."

Is it a technical or mental issue with Liton Das? In response to such questions, Hemp said, "The task is indeed very challenging. The new ball often behaves unpredictably, as it did last night. Batting here is difficult because of the challenges posed by the new ball. However, he is working hard to move forward, and that is the most important thing."
